About RivoRent
RivoRent Inc. lists apartments and homes for rent — 250,000+ listings in 9,000+ cities across all 50 states, with our deepest coverage in Cleveland, Akron and the rest of Northeast Ohio, where the company started. We accept Section 8 and housing choice vouchers and help applicants apply and qualify. Renters search, request a tour and apply entirely online. Equal Housing Opportunity.
How the work actually reaches you
Our chat assistant answers renters around the clock and hands the real conversations to a person: someone who wants a leasing agent, a bulk or master lease, corporate housing, a tour outside the booking calendar, or a question the assistant cannot answer. Those handoffs, the “Have us contact you” requests, and messages that arrive by WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger are the queue you work. The site publishes hours of Mon–Fri 8:00 AM–10:00 PM and Sat 10:00 AM–4:00 PM Eastern — that is when renters expect an answer.
What the day looks like
Nine things this job is actually made of. Every one of them is something this site does today.
- 1Work inbound rental leads from the website chat, the callback form, WhatsApp and Messenger, and reply while renters are still waiting.
- 2Answer questions about specific listings — rent, beds and baths, availability — from what the listing actually says. Never guess a price, a move-in date or a fee; if a listing says “Contact for pricing”, say exactly that.
- 3Schedule and run viewings booked through the site calendar (the earliest slot is 3 days out; morning, afternoon or evening) and meet renters at the property.
- 4Walk applicants through the six-step online application, including the $60 application fee by money order or certified check payable to RivoRent Inc. Proof of income is never requested — do not ask for it.
- 5Set expectations honestly on review: 1–3 business days after the payment photos are uploaded, then we contact the applicant by their preferred method.
- 6Work with Section 8 and housing choice voucher holders and help them qualify. This is a regular part of the pipeline, not an edge case.
- 7Follow Fair Housing in every conversation. Equal Housing Opportunity is on every page of this site, and it is how the role is judged.
- 8Flag listing problems back to the team — wrong photos, stale availability, a price that does not match.
- 9Keep notes and outcomes on each lead, so the next person picking up the thread is not starting cold.
What we’re looking for
- An active real estate license. We ask for the state, number, type, status and expiry in the form.
- Currently affiliated with a brokerage, or able to say clearly where your license sits.
- Residential leasing experience, ideally in the Cleveland / Akron market.
- Comfortable working leads by text and chat, not just by phone — this is a chat-first business.
- Comfortable with voucher holders and with applicants who are new to applying online.
- Able to travel to properties for scheduled showings.
- Writes clearly. Most first contact with a renter here is written.
What we ask, and what we never ask
We ask for your license state, number, type, status and expiry date so we can confirm it against the issuing state’s public license record. That is the only reason we ask for it, and submitting the form is your consent for that check.
On the last step, we verify who you are
- A photo of the front and back of your ID
- Your Social Security number
- Your date of birth
This is a licensed, paid role, so before an offer we have to know you are who you say you are and be able to pay you. Those three are asked for on the final screen, after everything else, and never before. They are encrypted the moment they reach us, they are never stored in your browser, and they are used for nothing but verifying and paying you.
This application never asks for
- A fee, ever
- Bank or payment details
- Home street address
- Salary history
- Credit or criminal history
Nobody from RivoRent will ever ask a job applicant to pay for anything — not an application fee, not training, not equipment. If a page or a message ever asks you for money on our behalf, it is not us.
We consider every applicant on skills, license and experience.
Earning potential
$200,000
A year, commission-based and uncapped.
This role pays on commission rather than a fixed salary, so what you earn tracks what you close. There is no ceiling on it.
Apply for this role
This is a job application, not the rental application. If you are looking to rent a home, start with the listings instead.
